AT&T peformed an "Upgrade" to Internet service in our area last night (12am-6am apparently for Celina, TX, Carter Ranch). Today Internet access is basically down and has been down all day. AT&T has finally acknowledged the outage current affecting Celina, TX and possibly Prosper, TX. Service is supposed to be restored by 5pm today. We will see.

Outage or weak cell signal on AT&T advanced phone system. ( It is the new system that is supposed to replace the old failing land lines.) Phone calls in or out connect for only about 1.5 minutes then line cuts off and a busy signal is heard. Only about 1-2 bars of cell signal showing on the system. AT&T Recommended signal strength is at least 3 bars.

    Wi-Fi Calling not working

we lost full cell services and internet (different providers). AT&T cell services were so bad you couldn't place a 911 call if you needed to, "No Network". And y'all know it's bad when you get a random pop up at the bottom of your screen telling you that your network can not provide you with the date or time, and they want you to manually set it, at 1:12am, over an hour after the outage began. This year our calls have been getting weird bad static sounds, dropped calls and recently this week an ear splitting very high pitched sound that literally hurt my good ear, causing physical reactions! AT&T response "All good on our end", what BS!

AT&T Outage: Is Your Service Down or Is It Just You?

If your calls won’t connect, your texts are stuck, or your internet suddenly stopped working, you’re probably wondering whether there’s a wider AT&T outage or if the problem is isolated to your home or device. You’re in the right place to figure that out. Check the live outage reports above, then use this guide to troubleshoot the issue and know when it’s time to reach out to AT&T directly.

How to Tell If There’s an AT&T Outage in Your Area

Service disruptions can hit one neighborhood or spread across an entire region. Before assuming the worst, take a quick look at what’s happening around you.

  • Check the outage reports at the top of this page for real-time updates from other users near you
  • Ask a family member or neighbor on AT&T if they’re experiencing the same problem
  • Try switching between Wi-Fi and cellular data to see if the issue is isolated to one network type
  • Restart your device to rule out a temporary glitch

If several people in your area are reporting the same problem, it’s likely a genuine AT&T outage rather than an issue with your specific setup.

Common AT&T Problems: Not Working, Down, or Just Slow?

Not every disruption means AT&T service is down. Sometimes it’s a device fault, a router that needs a reset, or a setting that got switched off by accident. Knowing the difference saves you time and frustration.

AT&T Internet Not Working

If your home internet or AT&T Fiber connection has stopped working, the cause could range from a local outage to a loose cable. Start with the basics before assuming it’s a widespread fault.

AT&T Cell Service Down

Dropped calls, no signal, or failed texts usually point to a network issue in your area, though your phone’s settings or a software update can also be responsible.

AT&T Wireless Data Problems

Slow or nonexistent mobile data is often linked to network congestion, especially during peak hours or in densely populated areas. It could also mean your data plan has hit its limit.

Quick Fixes to Try Before Contacting AT&T

Most connectivity problems have simple solutions you can try yourself in just a few minutes. Work through this checklist before picking up the phone.

  • Restart your phone, tablet, or router
  • Check for pending software updates on your device
  • Verify your account is in good standing and bills are current
  • Move to a different location to check for signal strength changes
  • Toggle Airplane Mode on and off to reset your connection
  • Unplug your modem or gateway for 30 seconds, then plug it back in

A simple router or device restart resolves a large percentage of connectivity complaints, so it’s always worth trying first.

Common AT&T Faults and How to Fix Them

Fault or Failure Likely Cause Suggested Fix
No signal on cell phone Network outage or area with weak coverage Check outage reports, restart phone, or move to an open area
Internet connection drops repeatedly Faulty router, loose cable, or network congestion Restart your gateway and check all cable connections
Slow data speeds Network congestion or data plan limits Check your data usage and try connecting to Wi-Fi
Can’t send or receive texts Network issue or software glitch Restart your device and check for carrier settings updates
Wi-Fi not broadcasting Router malfunction or firmware issue Power cycle the router and check for firmware updates

Common AT&T Error Codes and What They Mean

Error Code What It Means Recommended Action
Error 97 Network authentication issue Restart your device and reconnect to the network
Error 1000 General network connectivity problem Check for an outage in your area and restart your equipment
No Service Device cannot connect to the AT&T network Check coverage in your area or try toggling Airplane Mode

If you come across an error code not listed here, AT&T’s official support page maintains updated information on specific codes and troubleshooting steps.

When to Contact AT&T Customer Service

If you’ve worked through the troubleshooting steps and your service still isn’t working, it’s time to reach out directly. This is especially true if the outage reports at the top of this page confirm a widespread problem in your area.

  • Your service has been down for an extended period with no improvement
  • You’ve confirmed it’s not a device or account issue on your end
  • Multiple users nearby are reporting the same problem
  • You need to report a fault that isn’t reflected in current outage data

You can reach AT&T support and check official service status updates through their customer service page. They can confirm whether there’s a known outage in your area and give you an estimate on when service will be restored.
